Successful Trial Operation of Guard Rail Sleepers for Egypt’s High-Speed Rail Project
The Egyptian Company for Pipes and Cement Products “Siegwart” announced the successful trial operation of Guard Rail Sleepers for the High-Speed Electric Rail Project, marking a major milestone in Egypt’s infrastructure manufacturing sector and reflecting the country’s growing capabilities in localizing advanced transportation industries. The trial operation was conducted in cooperation with the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) and the international project consultant SYSTRA, in the presence of a delegation of engineers and technical consultants who supervised the operation process and verified compliance with the highest engineering and technical standards required for high-speed rail projects. This achievement represents the first local production and trial operation of this specialized type of railway sleeper in Egypt. The sleepers were manufactured at Siegwart’s facilities using advanced production technologies and in accordance with international standards adopted in modern railway and high-speed transportation projects. The company stated that the successful trial operation supports Egypt’s national strategy to localize strategic industries, reduce dependence on imports, and strengthen the country’s infrastructure and transportation sectors. The attending engineers and consultants praised the technical quality and manufacturing standards achieved by the factory, emphasizing the capability of Egyptian industry to deliver highly specialized products that meet the requirements of major national projects and reinforce Egypt’s position as a regional industrial hub for infrastructure and transportation solutions.
