A New Milestone in Localizing Advanced Transportation Technology
The Egyptian Company for Pipes and Cement Products “Siegwart” has officially announced the successful trial operation and launch of full-scale production of Guard Rail Sleepers for Egypt’s High-Speed Rail Project — marking the first local manufacturing of this advanced railway component in Egypt.
The project was implemented in cooperation with the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) and the global engineering consultant SYSTRA, in the presence of a delegation of senior engineers and technical specialists who praised Siegwart’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and compliance with international railway standards.
This achievement represents a major strategic step toward Egypt’s national vision for localizing advanced industries and modern transportation technologies, particularly in infrastructure and railway sectors. It also supports the country’s efforts to reduce dependence on imports, strengthen local manufacturing capabilities, and maximize the added value of Egyptian industry.
Guard Rail Sleepers are considered a critical component in high-speed railway systems, designed to enhance operational safety, improve rail stability, and ensure maximum efficiency and protection across modern railway networks operating at high speeds.
Siegwart confirmed that the production of this advanced sleeper system reflects the company’s strategy to expand its portfolio of high-technology concrete products and provide integrated engineering solutions that support Egypt’s major national transportation and infrastructure projects.
The company has recently introduced several innovative products manufactured for the first time in the Middle East, including high-speed rail sleepers equipped with USP elastic pads, in addition to Guard Rail Sleepers, reinforcing Egypt’s efforts toward local manufacturing localization and the development of advanced railway industries.
