Along the past thirty years , Siegwart has contributed in
upgrading railways in Egypt by producing prestressed reinforced
concrete sleepers - mono-block " Dwidag system " – W . Germany
. It also has expanded in developing railways .
Sleepers are produced by using the following special materials :

1-
Super fine cement ( 4100 cm 2 / gm ) .
2-
High tensile steel 140-160 kg/ m.m2
3-
Concrete mix B600 ( 600 kg/cm2 after 28 days ) .

All
the above mentioned materials are used in manufacturing a high
concrete 600 kg/cm2 – strength .
Rail is fastened by using iron bases fastened in the sleeper
first
Siegwart has established another factory producing another type
of sleepers :
Reinforced concrete sleepers " Twin block – Vagneux system "
under licence from Sateba - France .


The
following materials are used in manufacturing this type of
sleepers :
1-
Portland cement
2-
Reinforcing steel of grade 37&52 .
3- Rolled steel .
angle 70x70x7 (steel grade 60 )to join between the two
concre blocks

Siegwart is also able to manufacture other different kinds of
reinforced concrete sleepers for all types of railways , like the
underground metro , Trameway & gantry cranes , mines and stonepits
means of transportation with economic quantities .
